Abu Dhabi police on Wednesday released a video showing the moments leading up to the stabbing of a US citizen in a mall in the UAE capital. The 2 minute 30 second video, posted by police on YouTube, shows a suspect entering Boutique Mall in Reem Island on Monday, the day the woman was stabbed to death. Watch the video here. It shows the suspect, who is hidden under an abaya, black gloves and face cover (Niqab), entering the mall and leaving more than an hour and a half later. The video comprises footage taken from security cameras in a basement car park and ground floor lobby. The CCTV footage of the suspect, dubbed in a police statement as the Reem Island Ghost, stabbed a 37-year-old US kindergarten teacher on Monday afternoon on Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi. The assailant, whose gender is still to be identified, fled the scene following the altercation that took place inside the washroom of a shopping mall. The Ministry of Interior has urged the public to call 8002626 to provide any information that may help the investigation. The cause of the fight that broke out in the women’s restroom remains unknown.
