December 6, 2012 -- The Egyptian army has deployed tanks outside the presidential palace in Cairo amid ongoing clashes between supporters and opponents of President Mohamed Morsi. Critics accuse him of seeking to create a new autocracy by awarding himself extraordinary powers, and oppose a draft constitution they claim does not properly represent the aspirations of the whole nation.
