June 6, 2012 -- Senior Al Qaeda leader Abu Yahya al-Libi has been killed by a missile in Hesokhel in North Waziristan, in the Tribal Areas of Pakistan. The missile was fired from a U.S.-operated drone, according to U.S. officials. The 49-year-old Libyan was second-in-command to Ayman al-Zawahiri, who was named Al Qaeda leader after Osama Bin Laden's death.
