Competitors take the start of the 42nd edition of La Solitaire du Figaro solo sailing race on July 31 , 2011 off Perros Guirec , northwestern France. 47 competitors compete in the 42nd edition of the race from Perros-Guirrec to Dieppe, northwestern France, through Dun Laoghaire in Ireland.
